This Weasel Gets a Free Ride!

Recently, a photograph that’s been released of a woodpecker with a weasel riding on its back seems almost too amazing to be true. But according to the photographer, Martin Le-May, its real! Martin says he was out for a walk on Monday with his wife in London, when they heard an animal making a “distressed squawking” sound.

Obviously this weasel, wasn’t just trying to hitch a ride from the woodpecker, but actually trying to eat it! Le May said he “feared for the worst. I guess my presence, maybe 25 meters away, momentarily distracted the weasel.” The woodpecker got away free and clear, but for the weasel that caused the sensational photo, well he left the park hungry.
