Toshiba is one of the few companies that has used its years of
PC-making expertise to come at the tablet market from an origianl
angle. Rather than entering the Android fray, it has instead hedged
its bets on Windows 8.1 as a tablet interface. It has today
unveiled the latest two tablets in this range -- the 7-inch and
10-inch Encore 2.
Toshiba's original Encore was only available in an 8-inch form factor and was debuted at the IFA technology show in Berlin last September. It scored relatively well in our review thanks to its low price tag and connectivity options, but we also felt it was overly chunky. All of these factors are also true of its successors.
