The Amazon Dash button is actually free, and is only available for Amazon Prime members. Originally, the reveal was thought to be an April Fool’s Day joke by Amazon, but the company is quite serious that they want their customers to have these buttons around their house for simple re-ordering.
The buttons are set up through the Amazon app on your smartphone and can be customized to order any household item available on Amazon.com. The button will also send an order alert to your phone so that you can easily cancel the order if you change your mind.
