Want to embrace your speckled skin? Here are a few makeup tricks to enhance those beautiful spots
Choose The Right Base
Ditch your regular foundation for a luminising BB or CC cream to airbrush the skin's overall tone while still allowing freckles to show through. "These creams are far more flattering than a semi-opaque foundation that flattens freckles and kills natural radiance," says makeup professional David Horne.
Bronze Your Freckles
Try blending a bronzing cream over your cheeks and forehead. You're not covering your freckles, but you're blurring the distance between them and your underlying skin tone, so you just look sun-kissed and glowy. A gradual tan will do the same pixelating trick.
Glam Up
Freckles plus a bronzy base pave the way for laid back beach babe glamour. "Rose gold looks feminine and modern on freckled skin. Try a flash of metallic eye liner, or a wash of golden pigment over eye lids. Add a glossy lip and mascara, and you're set," says David.
A Hint of Blush
Pink blush is dangerous, as it strays too close to the colour of sunburnt skin. However a peach-toned cream blusher looks great on freckled skin. If you're a novice, try the 'bury the blusher' technique — put it onto your cheeks, then apply a BB cream on top of it, so it looks as if the colour is coming from within.
