Windows 10 Mobile Build 10512 Minor Improvements & Stability

















Windows 10 Mobile build 10512 has been released. Compared with the previous build 10166, this Windows Mobile 10 new Build can be seen as a great leap and Microsoft says it has more than 2,000 bug fixes in the system.

Some improvements can be listed in this Windows 10 Mobile Preview: User can now set the Lock screen and background wallpaper from within the Photos app, fixed an issue where app installed on the SD card do not run after the restart and improved the Kid’s Corner tile layout. An issue with camera that not run when the phone is locked has been resolved, the problem does not notify SMS and trim screen after a call has been overcome.

The Windows 10 Mobile Update now available for download in Settings> Update & Recovery> Phone Updates. Note that if you’re in Windows Phone 8.1, you will not be able to directly upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile builds 10512. Instead, you have to first download build 10166, then update your device to Build 10512.

The known errors still exist in the build 10152:

  • Mobile hotspot does not work, i.e you cannot share the 3G connection via Wi-Fi or other USB device
  • If you use Two-factor authentication for Microsoft account, feature activation code received by the phone is not active in this build. You should use your secondary email account to get the code.
  • Some phones may take long time to move the data after the update, just let the phone sit and it should complete this migration.
  • An application that uses background sound like Groove, podcasts, Pandora will crash when an app is updated from Windows Store. Reboot the device to solve the issue.
  • A Phones with a lot of tiles pinned to the Start screen can be stuck or Loading, when returning to the home screen. If you encounter this error, you must return to WP 8.1.
  • Some applications may not be updated through the Store with error code 0x80073cf9. To fix this issue, uninstall the app and reinstall it.
  • The Movies and TV application will not work in this build
