Energizer’s new batteries are made from old batteries

World’s first battery made with recycled batteries. They’re the company’s longest-lasting alkalines and the longer your batteries supply power to your devices before they die, the less often you have to replace them. That means fewer batteries in the trash or rather the recycling bin, where Energizer can scoop them up and turn them into more Eco Advanced cells.

To celebrate the launch of their incredible batteries made of batteries, they’re also giving away coupons for up to $3 off. 4% recycled content is just the first step A few years down the road, Energizer is hoping to push that percentage substantially higher. They’re shooting for 40% by 2025, and they think that’s well within reach with a little bit of help from their recycling partners.

It’s no shock that dead batteries still have plenty to offer. You may recall a viral video that made the rounds back in 2013. A group in Thailand wired up 1,500 old batteries and used them to charge 140 smartphones. Those recharges provided owners with an estimated 3,300 hours of talk time.
