Nike steps up with new SNKRS app

Nike has introduced a new app for sneakerheads, the aptly named SNKRS app. It's being described as an "inside source" to Nike's products for those in the United States specifically, and once the user ties (pun intended) their Nike account to the app, they'll be able to personalize their experience, get updates on the latest shoes-centric news, and browse through the different designs and offerings. In addition, the app gives a behind-the-scenes kind of look at different footwear and the story behind them. Users can use the app to favorite their preferred Nike franchises, set up notifications that'll give information on shoes and when they're set to drop, and more. The most notable feature, though, is the "inside story" look at different sneakers it offers.

The app provides exclusive content on different franchises, a brief glimpse of which you can see in the video above. Designs are included among that, as well as details "straight from the source". Nike isn't going into too much about what all that entails, however, instead teasing sneakerheads ahead of the app's official debut.

Both Android and iOS versions of the app will be made available, with the iOS version arriving some time this spring and the Android version arriving "soon after", whenever that might be. Ahead of that, though, some users will be given access on February 12 (only those in the US, however). Those interested should check out Nike's SNKRS site.
