New Deal Will Let Yahoo Show Search Results From Google

Back in 2010, Yahoo and Microsoft signed a deal allowing the former's search results to be powered by the latter's Bing search engine. Now, around five years later, the web giant has entered into a similar agreement with Google.

Yahoo revealed in its Q3 2015 earnings report that Google will provide some of its search results (and ads) - both on mobile and the Web. It's a three-year deal which is non-exclusive in nature, which means Yahoo will continue serving results from Bing as well as its own search engine.

Another important thing worth mentioning is that Yahoo will have complete control on which queries are passed on to Google. "Under the Services Agreement, Yahoo has discretion to select which search queries to send to Google and is not obligated to send any minimum number of search queries," the company said in a regulatory filing on the matter.

This is not the first time both these companies have partnered on search and ads - a similar deal was signed way back in the year 2000 which lasted for around 4 years.
