These are pliers made entirely out of wood, no assembly required. The video above shows you how to do it, but despite being only 10 cuts, I’d wager it will take some practice.The “wow” moment comes at about 2:30 into the video when the 10th cut splits the handle in two, freeing the pliers. It was a stick, then it morphed into pliers.
If you want to give this a shot, you’ll need a very sharp blade about the length of your thumb and a block of basswood, white pine, or something similar. You need to split it into small blocks along the grain to get a piece suitable for this project.
