From July 29th, Sky is going to start charging users an extra fee to use Sky Go on their games consoles. Despite
already paying for the Sky Go service, users who want to view content
on their consoles will be required upgrade to Sky Go Extra, for an extra
£5 a month.
Sky is upping the number of devices
available to register on Sky Go per user from 2 to 4, but consoles won’t
be included without the Extra package. The move not only
affects new users, but will also hit existing Sky Go customers, who can
expect to see their bills go up if they’re watching Sky tele on their
Xbox 360.
The Sky Go service isn’t currently available on the PS3 or PS4, but is set to launch on Sony’s consoles later this year. Sky Go is Sky’s online television service that offers on-demand programs and live content on web-enabled devices.
