To be located on the forward upper deck of new Airbus A380s, The Residence will span a total area of 125 square feet. It will feature a living room, double bedroom, an en suite shower room. This, the first private multi-room cabin on a commercial aircraft, also gets a dedicated butler trained at the famous Savoy Butler Academy in London.
The whole cabin gets Wi-Fi support, the living room features a 32-inch LCD TV and the bedroom gets a 27-inch unit. Also, there’s a touchscreen controlled Panasonic’s eX3 entertainment system in The Residence. Broadband internet, Live TV, HDMI, multiple AC and USB ports complete the experience. And to top it all, you can control ottoman, lighting, seat position and firmness, and even the in-seat messaging systems all using a touchscreen operated unit.
Emirates also offers similar services for its first-class (1A) travellers. From big armchairs that turn into flat-bed, to shower and spa facilities, the Dubai-based Emirates has a lot to offer as well. So, put in simple words, if Emirates offers a mini-room from a 5-star hotel, Etihad offers a mini-suite.
Watch the video below and witness The Residence redefine opulence, and probably change the way we (okay, not us) fly.
