Galaxy Note 4 to come with ultrasonic cover

Samsung is reportedly planning to launch an ultrasonic cover for the Galaxy Note 4. Samsung’s next phablet is expected to get its debut next month at IFA.

But just what is an ultrasonic cover? Well, according to the rumours, it is designed to help vision impaired users to get around. It works by emitting ultrasonic sound to detect objects nearby. There was no word on how it will work.

Samsung has launched an ultrasonic cover before, but only for its Galaxy Core Advanced phone, which didn’t sell all that well – at least here in the UK. If the Galaxy Note 4’s ultrasonic cover works anything like that one, then it will probably provide an audible alert and vibrate.

The Galaxy Core Advanced’s ultrasonic cover added a prong to the front of the already big phone. And with the Galaxy Note 4 said to be an inch bigger than the Core Advanced, it’s unlikely you’ll be sticking the case on unless you really need it. We’ll find out more at IFA when it kicks off next month.
