Did Ryan Gosling Have His Daughter’s Name Tattooed on His Hand?

Ryan Gosling might have his daughter’s name tattooed on his knuckles. Cameras just caught Gosling leaving lunch in Los Feliz, Calif. today, (Feb. 27, 2015). In the pictures, Gosling appears to have the name “ESME” written on his knuckles, short for Esmeralda.

Gosling and his girlfriend, Eva Mendes, welcomed their first child in Sept. 2014. We’ve yet to see pictures of the baby, but we’ve seen pictures of the new parents. Mendes stepped out earlier this month and showed off her amazing post-baby body. Gosling has been spotted multiple times on the set of his new movie, The Nice Guys. This is the first time Gosling’s been spotted with the maybe-possibly-real tattoo.

Kim Kardashian and Rita Ora in Identical Latex Dresses

Kim Kardashian and Rita Ora stepped out for the Mert & Marcus House of Love party, which was thrown to celebrate Madonna’s incredible career, wearing VERY similar styles.

Both Kim and Rita, who famously dated the reality star’s brother Rob Kardashian, showed up to the big bash in pale pink latex dresses, fur coats, and nude heels. The only difference? Kim opted to cover her cleavage with a high neckline, while Rita accentuated hers with a choke collar.

Guest of honor Madonna seemed to be in high spirits at the party despite taking a nasty tumble during her Brit Awards performance the night before (Feb. 25). The 56-year-old opted for an all-black outfit, fishnet stocking, and chunky black platform boots also in attendance was Rita’s beau Ricky Hil, Mark Ronson and Lindsay Lohan, who opted for a gold and silver vintage ensemble.

According to his wife, the star’s death was due to end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD. He was reportedly hospitalized earlier this week. Leonard had been open about his condition and publicly addressed it a week after his diagnosis last year. “Just can’t walk distances.

Love my life, family, friends and followers,” he tweeted. In recent years, he had become very active on Twitter, and posted his last message just a few days ago. “A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved except in memory. LLAP,” he wrote on Monday (Feb. 23).

Sales for #TheDress Are Through the Roof

Not only is everyone talking about #TheDress that was made famous overnight, everyone is buying it. Thanks to the hashtag hysteria, sales for Roman Originals, the company that makes the dress, have skyrocketed. A rep for the brand tells TMZ that sales have gone up 347% since the phenomenon began. While the dress is not currently available in white and gold, the fashion label is considering adding it to the line.

The great debate began when a woman shared a picture of the blue and black dress, which was to be worn by her mother at her wedding, asking people to identify the color. It took off from there with responses from celebrities such as Justin Bieber (blue and black), Kim Kardashian (white and gold), and Taylor Swift (blue and black).

These could very easily be Gigi Hadid's most memorable runway looks EVER. The 19-year-old stole the show at Moschino’s Milan Fashion Week event. She hit the catwalk wearing pieces from the Fall/Winter 2015 collection, which drew inspiration from cartoons and urban street wear.

Gigi walked in the runway in two outfits that caught everyone's attention. For one ensemble, she wore a quilted green crop top and matching trousers that were paired with a puffy orange coat. In another, the American beauty was dressed in a gorgeous black ball gown with bright graffiti artwork throughout and long gloves to match.

New ‘Spider-Man’ Movie Will Go Back to High School

A number of actors already have been mentioned as being considered for the role, including “The Maze Runner” and “Teen Wolf’s” Dylan O’Brien and the “Percy Jackson” franchise’s Logan Lerman. Lerman most recently co-starred in Sony’s “Fury.”

Actors have yet to be approached, and sources say Sony is looking to hire a new director to replace “The Amazing Spider-Man” films’ Marc Webb before tapping a new Spidey. The studio also needs to figure out whether it wants to go with another Peter Parker or introduce another character that suits up as Spider-Man, including Miles Morales, whose father is African American and mother is Puerto Rican.

Sony has put the character, played by Tobey Maguire and Garfield, in Midtown High School before, but the plan is to spend more time in the setting and explore his awkward relationship with other students while fighting crime out of the classroom.

Midtown is a major setting in the comicbooks, and Peter Parker also returns to the school to become a science teacher in storylines. Sony needs to move fast, since Marvel wants to introduce the new actor playing Spider-Man in “Captain America: Civil War,” in theaters in 2016, before launching his own solo franchise at Sony in 2017.

10 Sugar Free Fruits And Vegetables

Do you often find yourself checking out how much sugar each food item you eat contains? Well, when you are diabetic, fruits and vegetables are the best bet! And when such foods are sugar-free, you just don’t have to worry at all!

This post talks about those fruits and veggies that are sugar-free and are super-healthy as well! Go ahead and read!

1. Lettuce:

Lettuce is incredibly crunchy and is a regular ingredient in most kinds of green salads. You can binge on lettuce leaves and not even gain an inch on your waistline. Lettuce is especially healthy for boosting immunity as it is a rich source of folate, manganese and iron. Lettuce also contains essential B-vitamins and others like Vitamins A, C, D, E and K. Lettuce contains around 0.8 g of sugar per 100 g serving, which is less than 20 times the sugar in a pastry.

2. Asparagus:

Asparagus has been used in many cultures to treat a variety of diseases. Asparagus contains zero fat and virtually no sugar, while containing many other important nutrients, which are quite beneficial for the body. Although it has been primarily used as a diuretic, it has also been used to quicken metabolism. It contains vitamins A, C, E, K, B6 and minerals like iron, copper, folate and is also rich in protein.

3. Broccoli:

This dark leafy green is virtually free of fat and contains little sugar. However, whatever its shortcomings are, it more than makes up for the nutrient counts with other essential nutrients. Broccoli is crammed with vitamins A, C, D, E, K, dietary fiber, calcium and other nutrients including iron, phosphorous, zinc and potassium. Broccoli also contains one of the strongest antioxidants and its health benefits include curing skin problems and purging the body of damage-inducing free-radicals.

4. Brussel Sprouts:

Another one of our zero fat and low sugar vegetables, brussel sprouts are used in many salad recipes and are one of the healthiest options you can consider. Brussel sprouts also possess anti-carcinogenic properties which make them effective as a cancer-prevention agent. They are crammed with phytonutrients that lend them their anticarcinogenic tendencies. Also known as little cabbage, brussel sprouts are one of the health foods that aren’t popular with kids due to their relative tastelessness.

5. Cabbages:

We know that the little cabbages have featured on this zero fat and sugar-free list. Well, along with brussel sprouts, their equally important elder cousin is also a viable low-sugar and low-fat food option. This vegetable contains many nutrients and has many health benefits. Cabbage is rich in vitamins A, C, D, E and K. It also boasts of minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc and sodium.

6. Grapefruit:

Grapefruit is one of the most effective remedies for cough and cold. The presence of the all important Vitamin C ensures that this fruit also protects you from scurvy. This is another one of the zero-fat value foods, which you can eat without once thinking or worrying about gaining extra pounds.

7. Avocado:

One of the most nutritious foods around, and christened the ‘complete food’ by nutritionists across the globe, avocado is another one of our low-sugar and low-fat foods. It is especially in rich dietary fiber, and minerals like potassium and copper, and essential vitamins like E, A, K, B6, and C. Avocado also contains trace amounts of folate, copper and protein. It has many health benefits and is used regularly in skin and hair treatments.

8. Papaya:

Papaya has numerous health benefits, apart from the fact that it teases the palate superbly and tastes delicious. Papaya helps promote digestion through Papains, the chemicals in Papaya that stimulate the digestive processes. It is also rich in essential vitamins; most notably vitamin A. The presence of carotene makes papaya a preventive food for cancer. Its low sodium quality is good for people with cholesterol problems. Papayas improve skin color and prevent pigmentation and discoloration.

9. Tomatoes:

Contain decent amounts of Vitamin K; which is essential for building and strengthening bones. Vitamin K ensures that you maintain good bone health. It also stimulates a non-collagen protein called osteocalcin, which is necessary and acts as a catalyst, helping calcium strengthen your bones. Tomatoes also contain decent amounts of Vitamin A.

10. Beets:

Beets are full of minerals like potassium, iron, fiber and dietary fiber. They get their rich color from a potent antioxidant called betanin. To top it all, beets taste sweet. So, even if you have to avoid sweets and other sugary foods, you can safely gorge on beets.

NASA Satellite Visualises The Movement Of Sahara Desert

Here’s an awesome 3D visualisation from NASA that shows how the Sahara Desert helps fertilise the Amazon rainforest even though they’re on two different continents that are separated by an entire ocean. The Saharan dust is carried over by wind and the phosphorous in the dust is essential to the Amazon.

It’s really neat how the world’s largest desert is responsible for creating the world’s largest rain forest. It’s also interesting that the amount of phosphorus in the sand sent from the Sahara 20,000 tonnes is about the same amount that the Amazon loses from rain and flooding every year. In total, about 25 million tonnes of dust is blown over from the Sahara to the Amazon. NASA says that’s enough to fill 104,980 semi trucks.

Hyperloop Train Closer To Becoming Reality

Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, one of the companies inspired by Elon Musk's idea of making people travel in tubes, has signed a deal to build a five mile test facility in California.

The facility will be built by a local developer along Interstate 5, and is expected to begin construction next year. According to CNBC, the scheme will cost an eye-watering $100 million to build and should be up and running by 2019.

Harrison Ford will return in 'Blade Runner' sequel

Deadline and Variety report it has been confirmed that Harrison Ford will return to the role of Rick Deckard in the Blade Runner sequel that's currently in the works. Ridley Scott is producing the film, Hampton Fancher (co-writer of the original movie) and Michael Green are writing, and Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners) is in negotiations to direct.

The movie is supposed to start shooting next summer, with a script that already garnered high praise from Ford and is said to take place several decades after the original.

The Brabus S 63 850 Biturbo is The Ultimate 850bhp

The German tuning firm has just announced that it is has taken the existing 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 and increased its displacement to just shy of 6.0-litres. It has also added its own turbochargers with larger compressor units and bespoke exhaust manifolds.

The result is a vehicle that produces just shy of 850bhp and a staggering 1,450Nm of torque, although that figure has been pared back to 1,150Nm in order to protect the powertrain from eating itself after a few savage sessions around the circuit. Performance figures are equally ridiculous, especially when you consider it features four seats and weighs almost two-tonnes. The 0-62mph sprint complete in just 3.5 seconds and the top speed limited to a massively illegal 217mph. That's almost enough to put Ferrari's upcoming 488 GTB to shame.

To reduce lift at high speeds, a bespoke clear-coated carbon fibre spoiler has been added to the rear, while the suspension has been dropped to its very lowest setting and massive 21-inch forged alloys added. Brabus has confirmed that customers will be able to specify their own colour schemes, although a price for arguably the world's fastest all-wheel-drive four-seat coupe has yet to be confirmed.

Vulcan Aston Martin Is An Absolute Beast

Vulcan is a race-tuned carbon-fibre behemoth. Despite being installed with a full FIA rollcage, it still has a power to weight ratio that "exceeds those of the GTE cars which compete in the FIA's World Endurance Championship".

There's also the small matter of a 7.0-litre, naturally aspirated V12 engine that sits near the front of the car, delivering over 800bhp to the rear-wheels via the mid-mounted Xtrac six-speed sequential gearbox. It's ridiculously low - just 1186mm tall - and here's also a limited-slip differential, magnesium torque tube with carbon fibre propeller shaft and Brembo racing calipers acting on carbon ceramic racing disc brakes.

Aston Martin is only making 24 of these boxcar derby death-traps so you'll have to fork out a whopping £1.8 million for the pleasure of riding in one. Not only that, the Vulcan is so powerful you can't even drive it on the road - you'll have to keep it near a race track.

If you do decide to plonk some money down on one, your wad of cash will not only pay for the car, but also for an in-depth track lesson from Aston Martin Racing’s Le Mans-winning Darren Turner, who will guide you through the art of racing in a number of high performance Astons including the V12 Vantage S, One-77 and the Vantage GT4 race car.

HTC One M8 Limited Edition wit UEFA Champions League engraved

This extremely limited edition smartphone comes engraved with not only the Champions League logo (which looks like a football!), but also the name of every Champions League winning team from Marseille in 1992 to Real’s win last season, all etched into the aluminium chassis in text so small that an ant would need reading glasses to make it out, if ants could read and wear glasses.

Worried that your UEFA Champions League engraved HTC One M8 will be out of date as soon as the next Chapions League crowns its winner? Don't be as HTC's baffling decision to use its ageing HTC One M8 handset, rather than the upcoming HTC One M9, means that this is already a pretty dated phone.

This is the phone to prove beyond all doubt that you are completely committed to the sport of soccarball. The only problem is that this phone will be in such limited supply you'll have to stop thinking about sportsball for a few moments and check HTC's Facebook and Twitter and to find out how to win one.

Simple Animation Explains Why You Should Vaccinate Your Kids

After hearing it get simply explained in the video below, yeah, it’s pretty obvious that you should vaccinate your kids.

Astronomers Discover Mysterious Black Hole

Newly-discovered supermassive black hole that weighs as much as 12 billion of our suns. The most surprising thing about the black hole, though, is not its size but its age. Black holes grow as they age, gobbling up gas and stars that foolishly venture too close. Astronomers have found more massive black holes before, but this one is surprisingly young. Because it is so far away, we “see” the black hole as it was 12.8 billion light-years ago, or only about 875 million years after the Big Bang. Astronomers are puzzled how this black hole grew so huge in so short a time.

The age of this new black hole doesn’t square with existing theories of black hole formation, but astronomers do offer up some alternatives. Perhaps early stars that collapsed into black holes were larger than we thought, or perhaps two black holes merged into one. National Geographic has more details about the birth of black holes.

Astronomers found this black hole by detecting light from the quasar that surrounds it. A quasar is made up of the material swirling around a black hole that has not yet fallen in; as the material accelerates, it gets hot and emits light. This quasar is the brightest and its black hole the biggest found in the early universe. It’s 40,000 times as luminous as the entire Milky Way.

Yet it is so far away that it is but a tiny pinprick of light on our most powerful telescopes.

he other major additions is a virtual keyboard. The band now shows a tiny keyboard on its tiny display. It uses the same Word Flow or swipe feature present on Windows Phone 8.1 keyboard. Xiaomi on the verge for sports camera on March 2

Xiaomi is teasing a new device for March 2, the teasers themselves are based around a matchbox, suggesting a tiny device.

The company already has a smartband, so a sports camera isn’t out of the realm of possibilities.
The teasers feature a slice of ocean, luggage with a diving mask, a sky slope and a cat. Other than the cat, this pretty much describes a water and weather resistant camera to capture your escapades.

The rumors of a Xiaomi sports camera aren’t new, last year the company reportedly collaborated with a Shanghai-based company to create a GoPro-like device that will cost CNY 999 ($160/€140).

Back then the rumored features were a 138° wide-angle lens, 4K video at 30fps and 1080p at 120fps, plus a microSD card slot. Xiaomi’s event is scheduled for March 2 when we will presumably see the Xiaomi camera unveiled.

Apple Watch Will At Least Be Showerproof

Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed that he now wears his Apple Watch all the time, even while showering. So even if the company’s first smartwatch won’t be able to come diving with you, at least it will be able to withstand water splashes.

Up until now there’s been no mention of water resistance from Apple, save for the promotional image you can see above. It also implies that the Watch will be splashproof, but maybe nothing more.
On the same occasion, Tim Cook pretty much confirmed that we shouldn’t expect more than one-day battery life from the upcoming gadget, saying that he only takes it down in order to charge it – but he does so every night. And once again, Cook reminded everyone that the Apple Watch will be launching in April.

In the coming months, we should expect to see more accessibility features on the watch. Cook has praised the comfort of getting notifications on your wrist, especially important ones. He also talked about the Apple Watch serving as your room key in major hotels in the future.
As for the launch of Apple Pay in Europe, the CEO did not give an exact timeline, but mentioned that it will happen by the end of this year at the latest.

Beauty Tip: How To Keep Your Hair Tools Clean

If you style your hair regularly, you need to maintain your hair tools well. Here are a few tips.

Learn to store your tools properly. Instead of leaving them strewn around in your bedroom, store them atop your bathroom sink.

This way they won't get exposed to dust, water etc. Keep them away when you are not using them.

Use a damp cloth to wipe your hair tools clean. Once a week is good enough. Don't do this when the tool is hot. Though this will take only a few minutes, it will really extend the life of your hair tools.

When styling your hair, if you are using a hair iron, use the lowest heat setting on the tool. This will not just prevent your hair from damage but also protect the tool.

If a damp cloth doesn't help in cleaning the tool, you use a stronger cleaning agent, like alcohol, rub it on a cotton pad and scrub the hair tool. This will help removing any dirt or residue that has built up on the device.

Microsoft gives eligible students free Office 365 subscriptions

Microsoft had a surprise in store for students around the globe this February, and not just for those based in New York. The company's finally bringing free Office 365 subscriptions to students outside the US, so long as they live in one of the countries (it's quite a lengthy list) where the product's available.

Schools will have to buy subscriptions for staff and faculty, but once they do, students (and even teachers) can self-install for no charge by using a school-issued email address at the Office in education website. After signing up, they'll get access to the newest Office, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access and Publisher, and be able to install them on up to five computers and five phones or tablets. An account also comes with Office Online and, even better, 1TB of OneDrive storage, so users can go wild uploading anything without quickly running out of space.

LG's G Flex 2 phone is now on sale in the US, Hong Kong, Singapore, France, Germany and the U.K. You can pre-order at Sprint for $504, or $21 a month for two years (on contract), at Carphone Warehouse in the UK SIM-free for £530 ($820) and in Germany for €649 ($740).

That's a lot cheaper than the $940 of the original G Flex, and the new model has a bleeding-edge Snapdragon 810 CPU, 5.5-inch curved P-OLED Full HD display and 3,000mAh, 40-minute charging time battery. Pre-orders should pop up soon at other US carriers and it'll arrive to the rest of the world after MWC 2015, which starts next week.

Tattoo Removal Cream, No injection and No inflammation

This new creme will help erase some of those regrets, though: it can make tattoos disappear. Alec has been testing his miraculous creme on tattooed pig ears. It’s not exactly the same thing as testing on a human, but it’s a very close analog. Tattooists have been honing their skills on pig skin for a long, long time, so it makes sense that Falkenham chose to trial his topical creme this way.

The creme works by targeting the white blood cells (macrophages) that captured the ink originally injected by the tattooist’s machine. A treated tattoo doesn’t vanish instantly once the creme is applied. Multiple applications are needed, and Falkenham isn’t completely sure how many would be required for complete removal.

That magic number would likely vary from person to person, too. When he says, then, that treating a 10cm by 10cm area would cost around $4.50 per treatment, it’s hard to say how big a bargain that works out to. It would probably still be a great deal cheaper than a laser removal.

Alec’s creme has one other potentially huge advantage: it won’t leave behind any unwanted scars the way laser removal can. He’s now busily working with Dalhousie University’s Industry Liaison and Innovation office to bring the creme to market, so painless at-home tattoo removal might be in your no-to-distant future.

US military is testing rolling eyeball robots

This roly-poly, bug-eyed robot may soon be pressed into military service. And although it might look a little goofy, American Unmanned Systems’ GuardBot is built to tackle serious surveillance tasks.
This two-foot-wide model can roll around and transmit video for up to 16 hours, climbing inclines up to 30 degrees and hitting speeds up to 20mph. An operator can drive GuardBot using a remote control program along a pre-set path that it’ll follow using its built-in GPS.

While its primary duty is being the eyes on the ground, the two clear domes on either side can carry payloads other than cameras. Guardbot can pack two kilograms of cargo, including, potentially, explosives. Just half a kilo of military-grade C4 can destroy a truck, so four times that amount could make a pretty big hole in something.

Amazing Beehives Fresh Honey is on Tap - Check Out

The Flow Hive offers an easier — and much gentler — way to collect honey. Put a container under the tube, turn the handle, watch the liquid gold flow. There’s no smoker required and no protective suit is necessary. It looks so safe you could probably do it in the nude if you were so inclined.

Beekeepers around the globe are pretty excited about the Flow Hive, perhaps none moreso than Murray Akadieff of Farmgate Honey in Australia. He eloquently informed the Flow Hive team, “F%#$ That’s the Holy Grail of Beekeeping.”

The Flow Hive does command a higher price than your basic beehive kit — the minimum pledge to pick up a box and set of frames from their IndieGoGo project page is $410. Still, it’s a decent deal since you don’t have to pick up as much additional equipment.

Nicolas Cage Team-up Oliver Stone’s Edward Snowden

The actor has just joined Oliver Stone’s upcoming Edward Snowden biopic detailing the whistleblower’s history-making information leaks. Despite his proven conspiratorial loner chops, Cage won’t be playing Snowden himself, that honor goes to Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Instead, Variety describes Cage’s role as a “former U.S. Intelligence Official.” A scandalous NSA thriller probably needs some of those. Other cast members include Shailene Woodley, Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Tom Wilkinson, Rhys Ifans, Joely Richardson, and Timothy Olyphant.

While Oliver Stone’s political paranoia has stayed constant throughout his career, the actual quality of his films, from JFK to W., hasn’t been quite as consistent. Still, it’s hard to imagine a better pairing of filmmaker and subject. Plus, with the Snowden documentary Citizenfour now an Academy Award winner, the topic seems like a safe bet in Hollywood at the moment.

The film, expected to be called simply Snowden, takes inspiration from the books The Snowden Files, The Inside Story of the World’s Most Wanted Man by Luke Harding, and Time of the Octopus by Snowden’s Russian lawyer Anatoly Kucherena. Snowden is currently shooting in Munich before moving to other parts of the world by May.

Kanye West is developing his own video game

“The idea is that it’s my mother going through the gates of heaven,” said West in a radio interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club. ”You’ve got to bring her to the highest gate of heaven by holding her to the light.”

West’s mother Donda passed away in 2007, and the game would be an adaptation of his recent single “Only One.” The song features a hypothetical chat between his daughter North and her late grandmother. Whatever you think of Kanye’s music, at least he fully puts himself out there. So the notion that his video game would reflect that heartfelt spirit certainly sounds more promising than a cynical cash grab like 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand.

West said the game is in development now, but the premise is the only thing we currently know about it. Hopefully it doesn’t turn into another Play the Industry, a vaporware hip-hop RPG proposed by Master P and Seth Green in 2007 and promptly forgotten. If Kanye continues dabbling in game development though, maybe Dropout Bear could return.

New Pebble Time Smartwatch battery life better than Apple Watch

New model is the first Pebble with a color display. Like the other Pebble models, it’s not using an OLED panel. It’s e-paper, and that’s what allows Pebble Time to run for an entire week on a single charge. Not only will it run a heck of a lot longer than the Apple Watch, but it’s also slimmer by more than a millimeter.

Based on what’s happened so far on Kickstarter, it looks like geeks everywhere have been chomping at the bit for a full-color smartwatch with respectable battery life. The 10,001 early bird watches disappeared in the blink of an eye. In just under an hour, Pebble Time had already secured more than $2 million in pledges.

There’s still time to grab a Pebble Time at a discount, but you’ll have to move quickly. Single watches are still available at the $179 level, and you can snag in multiples at a discount, too. Don’t dawdle, though, or you’ll wind up waiting for the retail launch and shelling out the full $199.

Google Lunar XPrize race on the moon next year

The Google Lunar XPrize was announced in 2007 and two competitors have joined forces to make sure the challenge is completed by the end of next year. The Lunar XPrize comes with a $20 million payout for any company that can land a rover on the moon, drive it 500 meters, and send images back to Earth. Astrobiotic announced in December that it would be sending its Andy rover to the moon in the second half of 2016. The company has just added that the Japanese HAKUTO team will be piggybacking its twin rovers, Moonraker and Tetris on the Astrobiotic Griffin lander to the lunar surface. The mission will reach space via a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch. The driving aspect is what makes the unusual alliance between Astrobiotic and HAKUTO plausible.

Getting to the moon is only the first step. Once both teams are there, they need to remotely operate their rovers and make the half kilometer trip across the moon before taking pictures and claiming the grand prize. So how is the final stage going to go down? John Thornton, CEO of Astrobotic Technology says, “We envision a ‘NASCAR on the Moon’ scenario.” That sounds like a race I would watch.

Chinese state media celebrated when the Yutu rover made it to the lunar surface back in December 2013. It was designed for a three-month mission on the moon, but there was a “mechanical abnormality” just a few weeks after the landing that has left the rover unable to move. It only traveled about 100 meters in total before breaking down. Planning for this mission started in 2002, and the XPrize contestants have had only a few years to design their rovers.

The XPrize mission will land in the Lacus Mortis region, toward the northeastern part of the moon. The terrain there is believed to be relatively forgiving and there are some interesting surface anomalies that could be investigated if the rovers can keep rolling past the 500 meter mark. The teams have until December 31st 2016 to complete the challenge, but the $20 million prize isn’t going to be a big payday. The cost of the mission will surely exceed that.

Tumblr begins filtering ‘torrent’ searches, tags

Since Yahoo acquired Tumblr, they have been cautious to make changes, if any, to the social network. However, it appears there have been a few adjustments recently to the censorship or filtering of tags searches.

This filtering is applied to any posts on Tumblr that mention the word, or feature the "torrent" tag. Fortunately this can censoring can be turned off, as it is just related to the "safe mode" setting that is turned on by default. That's right, the term "torrent" is now grouped together with potentially offensive adult material.

The safe made set to "on" became the default setting on Tumblr over a year ago, no doubt a subtle way for Yahoo to protect unsuspecting users. But not all mentions of the word "torrent" mean the post is related to piracy or adult content, as one Tumblr user, a developer at Vuze, humorously mentions, even posts about streams of water flowing over rocks are caught up in the filtering.

Whatever the reason for Tumblr's censorship of the search term, legitimate content is being unnecessarily hidden. One could say that this serves as a prime example of how internet censorship is a double-edged sword.

Apple says no more AOL log-ins for iTunes or App Store

Apple is going you time to grieve your loss, though. If you’re really attached to your AOL ID, you have until March 31 to get a new scheme rolling. Past then, Apple says they “can't provide support for AOL Username accounts”.

All AOL sign-ins will need to be converted to an Apple ID. If you log-in using an AOL ID, you’ll be prompted to change, with instructions on how to go about it all.

We would urge you not to drag your heels, though. Apple says “AOL Usernames which have not been transitioned to Apple ID will permanently lose access to the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store after March 30, 2015.”
