Microsoft's OneDrive gets better at showing and sharing your photos

The folks in Redmond are rolling out a photography-focused update to OneDrive that gives your image library some TLC. You can organize photos into albums with edge-to-edge photo collages and larger single-picture views.

It should be much easier to find and share your snapshots, as well. OneDrive now draws on Bing image recognition to give your pics basic tags (like "beach" or "dog"), and PCs running Windows 7 or 8 can automatically sync photos from devices as soon as you plug them in.

Christine Taylor Talks “Zoolander 2”: It’s Happening!

It’s been way too long since Derek Zoolander rocked the runway and Christine Taylor just told Entertainment Weekly that “Zoolander 2” is definitely on the way. The “Dodgeball” dame will reprise her role as journalist Matilda Jeffries, who fell in love with Derek, played by Taylor’s real-life husband Ben Stiller, but there’s no telling what’s happened between them since the 2001 original flick.

Christine explained, “I can tell you that I’m involved, but that’s all I can say. I can tell you it’s happening, but I can’t tell you where Matilda’s at and where their relationship is at. It’s all top secret!” Previously, Ben teased, “It’s ten years later and most of it is set in Europe…their lives have changed and they’re not really relevant anymore. It’s a new world for them. Will Ferrell is written into the script and he’s expressed interest in doing it. I think Mugatu is an integral part of the Zoolander story, so yes, he features in a big way.”

Disabled goldfish gets underwater 'wheelchair'

Little Ada the telescope-eyed goldfish had a problem: she couldn't float. So her owner, YouTube user synirr, crafted her a little goldfish-style "wheelchair" - a sling that keeps her upright and, if not exactly floating, at least not sinking.

It's one of the most bizarrely adorable things we've seen. The contraption, constructed of a plastic frame, is attached to the top of the tank by a piece of fishing wire. The frame cradles Ada's little body, while the wire keeps her from sinking and allows her some movement around the tank. It's not quite as fancy as Susan Austin's diving wheelchair (it doesn't even have wheels), but it does the job.

Samsung's Gear VR will soon provide Qantas first-class passengers

Australian carrier Qantas will soon welcome a new breed of gadget onboard -- the Samsung Gear VR, along with a Galaxy Note 4 to power it. The phone's loaded with a special app that shows you 360-degree views of the carrier's first-class lounges and even a virtual reality boat ride. You can also use it to watch a movie, but unfortunately, if you want to marathon House of Cards, you'll have to use your own laptop or tablet for that. See, the bad news is that there will be a limited number of Gear VRs available, and it's not accessible to everyone flying Qantas: only folks in Business Class aboard an Airbus A380 going from LA to Sydney or from Melbourne to LA can borrow one. Even then, they're expected to use it only for a limited time, so other people can take their turn.

Qantas is providing two units each for the Mebourne and Sydney first-class lounges, four for inbound flights from LA and another four for outgoing flights to the city. The lounges will be stocked with the units as soon as mid-February, whereas the planes themselves won't be offering the device until mid-March. If you're just looking to experience using the virtual reality headset, though, it might be wiser to just buy the $200 Gear VR and the $700 phone to power it, as each top-tier round-trip ticket for those Qantas flights cost roughly 20 grand.

Kardashian is definitely a proud parent, North “is so smart,” she says proudly.

“She is halfway potty trained, which is insane for her age. Last night she looked up at the sky and pointed and said, ‘Moon, Mom! Moon!’ I couldn’t believe she knew that.”

How To Stream And Play PC Games On Android The Easy Way

The app is compatible with Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8, with a PC that is running at least a dual-core CPU to keep up with the intensive communication and processing tasks that are required to make the streaming magic happen. That said, it is obvious that at the heart of the gaming is the GPU, where Remotr will best perform with graphic adapters that would allow for a gameplay of 60 frames per second. The Remotr team recommends a GTX 660, but that does not mean AMD Radeon users have anything to worry about.

2Remotr for Android can be downloaded for free from Google Play and is compatible with Android 4.1 and above. The Remotr streamer app for the PC is also available for free from the developer’s website.

Disabled Dog Gets a 3D Printed Wheelchair

Bubbles the dachshund was born without her two front legs. Her owners Trevor Byers and Elissa Smoak decided to build her a wheelchair. They used a combination of “carbon fiber, 3D-printed parts and a model airplane, with the hope that others would be able to utilize the same design for their own dogs in need of a wheelchair,” according to 3ders.org.

Byers uploaded Bubbles’ wheelchair design to MakerBot’s Thingiverse for other pet owners looking for help. "Bubbles is the reason I bought my printer in the first place and she loves the freedom it has given her," Byers said on his Thingiverse page. As you can see from these videos of Bubbles playing with her fellow canines, the wheelchair is a hit.

Apple $18billion in profit for Q1 2015, the largest in its history

Apple blew away its own projections with a record-breaking $74.6 billion in revenue, leading to $18 billion in net profits. Both profit and revenue topped Apple’s previous records set in Q1 2014.

Apple’s record-breaking quarter was aided in large part by unprecedented demand for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Total iPhone sales hit an astounding 74.5 million, while only 65 million was expected. The iPad experienced decent holiday sales, with 21.4 million sold, and Mac sales didn’t disappoint either. With 5.5 million sold, it’s no wonder Tim Cook called the quarter “simply phenomenal.”

Comcast Apologizes After Customer's Name Shows Up as 'A--Hole' on Bill

Resident named Lisa Brown claims that, after she called Comcast to cancel her family’s cable, her husband’s name was changed from Ricardo Brown to “Asshole” Brown on her most recent cable provider bill. Apparently, Lisa Brown called to cancel the cable portion of the bill because her family was experiencing financial difficulties and she wanted to cut costs. She was — of course — transferred to a retention specialist, who tried to persuade her to sign up for a new two-year contract. When the specialist proved ineffective, she was charged a $60 cancellation fee.

We have spoken with our customer and apologized for this completely unacceptable and inappropriate name change," she told Yahoo Tech. We have zero tolerance for this type of disrespectful behavior and are conducting a thorough investigation to determine what happened. We are working with our customer to make this right and will take appropriate steps to prevent this from happening again.

    A Blood Clot on Close-Up

This image looks like it could the a colourful underwater coral reef or a child’s breakfast cereal strewn across the floor. But it is, in fact, what a blood clot looks like if you zoom right in. This image shows a blood clot in close detail. The thick grey mesh is the clot, capturing a mixture of different cells - seen in different colours.

A black and white image was first produced using a scanning electron microscope and then the different types of cells were highlighted in different colours. Red blood cells are seen in red, platelets in turquoise and an assortment of white blood cells are shown in purple, blue, green and yellow.

Things have certainly changed around the Kardashian camp since the divorce of Kris and Bruce Jenner, but Kim Kardashian isn’t turning her back on her stepdad. In her new interview with Entertainment Tonight, the “Disaster Movie” actress declined to comment on the Olympian’s changing appearance or the rumors that he’s undergoing gender reassignment therapy.

Kim explained, "I think everyone goes through things in life, and I think that story and what Bruce is going through, I think he'll share whenever the time is right. I feel like that's his journey to talk about…Well we support Bruce no matter what, so we were just at his house hanging out and we wanted to take a picture.

That was not like a secret message like, 'We support Bruce.’ Of course we support Bruce 100 percent. He's our dad so we support him no matter what, and I think when the time is right, he'll talk about whatever he wants to talk about. I just think it's his story to talk about, not really mine."

YouTube Replaces Adobe Flash With HTML5 Video

YouTube will be using HTML5 to playback content on Chrome, Internet Explorer 11, Safari 8 and the beta versions of Firefox browsers. It offers less buffering in videos - the reason Google attributes to the delay of the YouTube HTML5 rollout. According to Leider, the HTML5's ABR "has reduced buffering by more than 50 percent globally and as much as 80 percent on heavily-congested networks." MediaSource extensions will also support live streaming of games via Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
The VP9 codec is also supported by HTML5, delivering higher quality video resolution with a 35 percent bandwidth reduction. This will let users view 4K videos quicker and 15-80 percent faster. Other features in HTML5 include WebRTC for better video broadcasting experience, also encouraged video embedders to use the <iframe> API as it will "intelligently use whichever technology the client supports.

Google has been consistently improving the YouTube experience of users both on PC and on mobile devices. The firm last week updated its YouTube app on Android bringing new features and earlier this month also confirmed the upcoming support for 360-degree videos.

Microsoft Project Spartan Browser Will Support Extensions

The announcement of extension support in Microsoft's Project Spartan browser came from the Internet Explorer Developers Team, who on Tuesday as a part of the #AskIE chat posted, "Yes. We're working on a plan for extensions for a future update to Project Spartan.

For those unaware, Microsoft's latest Spartan browser is based on the company's new rendering engine named Edge, which is the forked version of Internet Explorer's Trident engine. At the time of Microsoft's 'The Next Chapter' event, we saw few Spartan features including Cortana integration, reading list with synchronisation, and web page annotation. However, a lot still remains to be seen and heard about the browser, which is yet to become a part of the Windows 10 Preview Builds.

World’s First Chainless Folding Electric Bike

The Footloose by Mando is doubtless going to make you want to test ride it. Asserting that it is the world’s first chainless hybrid electric folding bike, Korean auto suppliers Mando Corp and Meister Inc have collaborated to bring us this beautiful design.

Designboom states the foldable scooter can go up to 18.6 miles with the motor alone, and farther with pedaling by the rider. “By directly transforming electricity via an alternator connected to the crank, power is generated directly from the user.

The energy stored in a lithium-ion battery, which is then used to actuate the engine. Using an electronic control unit (ECU), the ‘footloose’ works with sensors and an automatic gear changer to monitor terrain and adjust the motor’s output as necessary. Foldable bike monitors the system for problems, which it displays via a handlebar-mounted human machine interface (HMI).

Here is a video illustrating the folding bicycle a bit more:

The plan includes unlimited talk, text, and data and runs just $9.95 per month for Optimum Online customers, and $29.95 per month for everyone else. Either way, there's no annual contract to lock yourself into, though it does require purchasing a Motorola Moto G from Cablevision for $99.95.

Users are automatically connected to Optimum Wi-Fi hotspots in the area, plus you can add any locked Wi-Fi hotspots you have access to -- just enter the password once and you're all set.

Jessica Alba: Bikini Babe in Thailand

She’s been hard at work on her new movie “Mechanic: Resurrection,” but Jessica Alba hasn’t forgotten to kick back and relax from time to time.

Earlier today (January 26) the “Fantastic Four” actress posted a photograph via Instagram from her balcony in Thailand, sporting a skimpy blue bikini as she looks out over the beautiful landscape.

Jessica recently told Marie Claire magazine that although she’s been considered a stunner for over a decade, she just recently began feeling it. “I think I came into my own physically in my thirties, even when I'd had kids.

I'm actually smaller now because everything kind of hangs off differently. But I feel more like a woman, with not such a girl face.”

The Clint Eastwood flick brought in $64.4 million, dropping just 27.9% from the $89 million that set the January opening weekend record last week.

And when it’s all added together, “American Sniper” has a worldwide total of $247,637,000, not too shabby considering the studio budge came in at just under $60 million.

Lady Gaga’s Yoga Attire: A Black Thong!

She’s always been an exhibitionist and over the weekend Lady Gaga decided on a very unusual ensemble for her daily yoga routine. The “Edge of Glory” gal posted photos from the yoga studio to her Instagram account, showing her in several poses while wearing nothing but a black sports bra and a black thong.

And of course, Mother Monster added some clever captions to keep her loyal followers intrigued- “Time to tell last night’s pizza whose (sic) boss. Yoga with @triciadonegan #findthepinkdrop,” followed by, “Lower Eastside Yoga. The only sandwich I’ll be eating today is this one.”

How you cook your vegetables matters!

Here are seven mistakes people make when cooking along with tips for how to remedy them:

    1. Overcooking

This is one of the most common ways people ruin their veggies. Often, this leaves your greens — and reds, oranges, etc. — mushy and drained of color so they’re not appetizing to eat. But the worst part is that “heat destroys the majority of their nutrients,” explains Julieanna Hever, MS, RD, a plant-based dietitian and author of The Vegiterranean Diet. Boiling is the worst cooking method because water-soluble micronutrients leech out into the water.

If you must boil, drink the cooking liquid if possible, such as in soups or stews, or blanch your veggies, which is a quick boil. Your best bet? Steaming the veggies for three to five minutes before stir-frying. Which brings us to the next common mistake…

    2. Using just any kind of oil

Your usual stir-fry seems like it would make for a healthy dinner, but think again if you’re sautéing in seed oils like canola oil and sunflower seed oil. The unsaturated fats in these oils “oxidize at high heats and become toxic,” cautions Frank Lipman, MD, an integrative and functional medicine physician, founder of Eleven Eleven Wellness Center in New York City, and author of The New Health Rules. A better option is to sauté veggies in grass-fed butter or coconut oil.

    3. Nuking the wrong way

Microwaving may be quick, but it can easily overcook your veggies, which reduces their nutritional content. But that’s not the worst of it. “Microwaving food with plastic wrap can introduce toxins, such as BPA, into the food,” Lipman explains. These toxins are carcinogens and can be detrimental to your endocrine system. If you must nuke your produce, do so in a glass dish sans the plastic wrap.

    4. Turning up the heat

You’re in a rush to get dinner on the table, so you turn up the heat, right? Wrong. If you’re using olive oil, it can create smoke that gives food a burnt flavor. “More importantly, heating olive oil until it smokes destroys its antioxidants,” explains Susan Blum, MD, author of The Immune System Recovery Plan and founder of Blum Center for Health in Rye Brook, N.Y. Instead, cook olive oil on medium-high heat and drizzle some on top of your veggies at the end to “get all the antioxidants intact,” Blum adds.

    5. Peeling your produce

“One thing everyone does to their beautiful organic carrots (and potatoes, parsnips, cucumbers, etc.), is to peel them before cooking,” says Lee Gross, former personal chef to Gwyneth Paltrow, culinary director of New York’s Organic Pharmer and consulting chef for LA’s M Cafe restaurants. “This means you’re losing valuable nutrients to the trash.”Vegetable skins contain high concentrations of vitamins, minerals, and trace elements, including some that are unique to the outer layer of the vegetable and not found in its flesh. “For optimal nutritional benefits, don’t peel it!” Gross says.

    6. Tossing those veggies on the grill

Grilling is often a healthy option because you don’t need to drown your vegetables in oil or other sauces to enjoy a tasty meal. “However, the high, dry temp of the grill can deplete nutrition,” Hever explains. Even worse? When veggies are charred (a.k.a. get those grill marks), it promotes carcinogen production. To avoid this, don’t cook your veggies until they’ve got grill marks; instead, try one of those cooking baskets made for veggies. “However, the less heat, the better, so do so with caution,” Hever says.

    7. Drowning veggies in oil

Eating broccoli, kale, and other produce can make you feel virtuous because this food group is low-fat, low-cal and bursting with nutrients. But adding too much butter or oil can boost the calorie content fast. (For example, one tablespoon of olive oil has 120 calories and who uses just one tablespoon?) “Plus, many oils become oxidative when cooked at certain temperatures, promoting inflammation in the body, and butter has a lot of saturated fat and cholesterol,” Hever adds. Instead, cook in vegetable broth, water, vinegar, or wine and make sauces and dressings out of beans, tofu, and avocado. Or steam your veggies, then drizzle a little olive oil on them rather than cooking in it.

Guardians of the Galaxy gets amazing 8-bit makeover

The creators managed to flesh out some of the film’s best scenes, repackaging them into the arcade gaming format. All the gang including Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot and Rocket are side-walking about to the catchy 70s soundtrack, which features on Peter Quill’s mixtape throughout the film.
While the arcade reimagining may not contain the same big-budget special effects, it certainly begs the question: why haven’t the gaming powers that be released a Guardians of the Galaxy video game?
With plenty of memorable action scenes and laugh-out-loud moments, the 8-bit remake definitely shows potential in the franchise transferring to gaming. Even the film’s director agrees, with James Gunn writing in the YouTube comments: "I love it."
If you want more 8-bit cinematic remakes, then head over to CineFix. Meanwhile enjoy the Guardians of the Galaxy edition below:

The Jetsons animated movie in the making

Warner Bros. is heading back to the future with a feature version of  "The Jetsons,” hiring Matt Lieberman to write the script. Hanna-Barbera original animated show aired in primetime on ABC in 1962 and 1963. It was set in 2062 and centered on George, Jane, Judy and Elroy Jetson along with Rosie the Robot. The series was a Space Age counterpart to Hanna-Barbera’s “The Flintstones.”

Warner Bros., which owns the Hanna-Barbera library, had been developing a live-action version of “The Jetsons” as recently as 2012 with Donald De Line and Denise Di Novi producing. In 1990 Universal released a “Jetsons” movie directed by Joseph Barbera, co-founder of the Hanna-Barbera company and one of the creators of the original series.

Lieberman has written “12/24″ for Chris Columbus’ 1492; “Giant Monsters Attack Japan” for Paramount Animation; and “The Pet” for Disney, with Jared Hess to direct. He’s repped by WME, Madhouse Entertainment and attorney Melissa Rogal.

eSight Glasses: Blind Mom Sees Her Newborn Baby for the First Time

High tech video glasses called eSight glasses and cost around $15,000 per pair. The high-tech glasses capture video of what is in front of the lenses with a camera and then project the video onto special HD screens. A woman named Kath Beitz is legally blind and lost her vision as a child. Over the years, she has adapted to being unable to see the world around her. The challenge for Beitz was that she wanted to see her newborn son the day he was born. Thankfully, with the help of some very expensive and high tech video glasses.

Beitz has a condition called Stargardt disease that causes macular degeneration and she contracted the disease when she was 11. She has some peripheral vision, but has a blind spot in the center of her field of view and is legally blind. About 140 people currently use eSight glasses in North America. Beitz was able to keep the glasses apparently and they will make it easier for her to care for her newborn child. The company that makes the glasses has a fundraising department that helps those in need afford the product. The company is also trying to work with insurance companies to get the insurance firms to pay for some of the purchase.

Ants on your plate of Shrimp in Japan

Noma of Denmark the worlds no 1 restaurant has moved its home to Tokyo and is now called Noma Japan till the end of this month. It is set up on the 37th floor of the Mandarin Oriental in Tokyo and offers a stunning view of Mount Fuji. Among all the innovative dishes whipped up for the 16 course dinner, the one that particularly caught our attention was called “Flavours of the Nagano Forest”. Created by head chef Rene Radzepi, this is definitely one of its kind and sure to start a trend.

The dish has fresh premium jumbo shrimps served on a platter of ice. However it is the seasoning on the top that catches everyone’s eyes. Tiny wild black ants, a dozen to be precise are carefully arranged on the shrimp as seasoning. The chef believes that the sharp acidity of the ants act as a perfect accent for the sweet succulent flesh of the shrimps.

Till now an ant in your food would be reason for anger but now people are ready to pay for those ants on their plate. Speaking of paying, the dinner costs JPY 149,500 ($ 1265) for two and has long been sold out.

Star Trek phaser 47-year-old to be sold for $60,000

    star-trek-phaser-gun-2

A 47 year old Star Trek Phaser from the original show featuring original Enterprise Crew led by Captain Kirk, Spock, et al, is reportedly going to be sold for a price of a whopping $60,000 (£40,000). This fiberglass prop is apparently one of the two that are currently in existence and hence the fantastic price tag. However, back in 2013, a Star Trek Phaser rifle that was used by Captain Kirk in the series, sold for an amazing $231,000! According to the experts, who say that the prop has been “exhaustively researched”, this particular Phaser made its TV debut in an episode that was first broadcast way back in March of 1968.

Auction house Propworx, near Los Angeles, are the guys responsible for the sale of the Phaser and are expecting to raise $60,000 for it. According to the background information on this particular piece of Trekkie memorabilia, the Phaser initially belonged to the production company of the original Star Trek series i.e. Desilu and then made its way to a private collection after filming ended in 1969. I hope my savings in my various piggy banks and “off shore” accounts are enough to get in on the bidding.

Looking fierce in a leather jacket and ripped jeans, the maybe expecting entertainer enjoyed her court side view with a beverage. (Unfortunately for the curious, Bey’s drink, garnished with a lime wedge, was crystal clear).

Rihanna Invites Leonardo DiCaprio to Meet Family

Leonardo DiCaprio and Rihanna have decided to have some "fun," however their relationship isn't serious. DiCaprio and Rihanna have sent the internet in to a frenzy after having been spotted together on more than one occasion in recent weeks.

And while a source has revealed that the couple have been "hooking up" there is nothing serious going on between the pair. A source told Us Weekly magazine, "They've been hooking up. After his breakup, Leo started texting Rihanna again. "They decided to have some fun. He's a free man again. So he's back into the field full swing. Neither one is looking to make this anything more than fun. He's into her, and they're enjoying it. This is a no strings kind of deal."

The pair were most recently spotted talking for two hours at the Sunset Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood on Jan. 14, 2015 and snuck out together at 2am. InTouch magazine sources (so keep that in mind) revealed that the "We Found Love" songstress wants to bring the Titanic actor to her hometown in Barbados to meet her family.

A report from Hollywood Life, via a source which told InTouch magazine that the singer does not bring just any other guy to meet her family unless she really likes him. I just don't see that happening, unless Leo is just going to Barbados to do some yachting.

JLO Weighs In on Ex-Lovers During “Watch What Happens Live”

She’s had some pretty high-profile romances in the past, and Jennifer Lopez was all-too-happy to share her thoughts on “Watch What Happens Live” on Thursday night (January 22). The “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” songstress was gorgeous in a cleavage-baring black dress as she chatted with Andy Cohen about her famous former flames.

Starting with her most recent boyfriend Casper Smart, Lopez noted that her ex-husband Marc Anthony didn’t mind the relationship- "There was just an understanding. Marc was already dating someone else. His concern was how was he was getting along with the kids. It was fine. They actually have each other's numbers now.”

As for Ben Affleck and Sean “Diddy” Combs, Jennifer shared, “Maybe what I liked when I was younger wasn't as good for me, but now I have different criteria. As far as type-wise, like look and everything, I'm not a looks person. I don't know if you noticed over the years? I thought they were all hot. Other people might be like, 'What the hell is she thinking?' But I don't care."

Available starting on February 7, Converse’s Andy Warhol collection will range in price from $US35 to $US90. And before you cry foul of the company taking advantage of the artist’s legacy, keep in mind that a portion of all the proceeds will actually go directly to the The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. So you could be helping a struggling artist who might one day find their own creations wrapped around a shoe.

Dish Network liable for millions of telemarketing violations, rules court

According to the complaint filed against Dish, the company's own internal Do Not Call list was violated many times, with more than a million people on it being called anyway. Nearly 50 million abandoned calls were also claimed in the complaint, which is when someone is not connected with a representative within a couple seconds of a call being answered.

Finally, Dish was found liable for making calls to numbers in the Do Not Call Registry. California, Ohio, North Carolina, and Illinois were all state co-plaintiffs on the complaint. Though the case has been on-going for several years, it still isn't over, and a trial is currently scheduled to take place this upcoming July.

    Uber suspended a dozen drivers

Uber has again pulled a business move that has garnered controversy, this time by suspending drivers who elected to follow state law rather than company demands. In California, individuals who drive for hire are required to register their cars as commercial vehicles rather than personal ones. Some drivers complied with that requirement, but were give the boot by Uber, which told the drivers they must switch over to personal registration to get their driving privileges back. At least 12 drivers were suspended.

This puts Uber and California's DMV at odds -- California requires the commercial registration even if the driver only occasionally uses their car for hire and for personal reasons otherwise. Drivers who fail to properly register their vehicles face both tickets and potential prosecution. Uber has said in emails to temporarily suspended drivers that they cannot driver under UberX if their vehicles have commercial registration.

Likewise, those who get Uber financing are also being required to register their vehicles as personal cars. Despite state law, some drivers are electing to revert their registration to personal from commercial. In a statement to BuzzFeed, Uber said: "It is not our policy to deactivate driver partners who wish to register their vehicles as commercial."
