Four hygiene steps for your wheels

Showing off your ride after making your body panels, alloys and carbon fibre finishes gleam with a thorough polish is one of the satisfying things about owning your own car.

Just don’t let the effect down by neglecting the interior. A gross interior won’t impress your friends who may be tempted to treat it as a trash can. A niffy interior isn’t going to impress a date either.

A few quick steps:

1. Declutter
First get rid of all the clutter and trash that shouldn’t be there - fast food cartons, coffee cups and gym bags you forgot to remove after the last workout. Don’t forget to clear under the seats and the darker corners of the boot/trunk.

2. Hit the hard surfaces
A wipe over the hard surfaces inside with a simple all purpose car surface cleaner can take care of much of the hygiene aspect and only takes a couple of minutes.

3. Care for the cloth and carpets
After a quick whizz round with a vacuum cleaner it’s time to refresh car’s fabric finishes. Simply spray Febreze Fabric Refresher on seats, headrests and carpet to kill off 99.9% germs*, eliminate any bad odour and bring out that fresh car smell.

4. Think ahead
Now you have your ride up to scratch and smelling of roses, it will be easier to keep that way. Keep some trash bags handy in the back. You might even want to have a Febreze Fabric Refresher  in the glove compartment for an easy fix next time it starts to smell a little stale.
