BMW 1 Series gets new three and five door models

The 1 Series cars use BMW TwinPower Turbo technology and rear wheel drive. The higher end performance model, the M135i, also gets a power bump for its six-cylinder engine. The power bump in the M135i brings the output to 326hp and gives the car fuel consumption of 8L/100km with CO2 emissions of 188g/km.

The BMW 116d EfficientDynamics edition has 116hp and produces 89g/km of emission and promises 3.4L/100km of fuel efficiency. An eight-speed Steptronic transmission is optional to replace the standard manual transmission. The transmission in automatic versions of the 1 Series is also helped using navigation data.

BMW offers optional M sport tuned suspension, Variable Sports Steering, and M Sport braking. Optional driver assistance systems in the 1 range also have available radar-based Active Cruise Control with a stop and go function. All models come with an embedded SIM card for use with Emergency Call and BMW TeleServices.
