How Do You Get Taller if You're a Short Kid

If your child is the shortest in his group of friends, there are ways to help him grow big and strong, so that he can avoid any height-related troubles in his future. Learn the tips, tricks and techniques to grow taller naturally. Nutrition, exercises and posture all play a role in how tall a person will grow.

1. Increase your human growth hormone levels. HGH is produced by the pituitary gland and the anterior lobe of the brain. You can get HGH injections or take HGH supplements, but these options come with risks. You can increase your HGH level naturally by blending together water with three tomatoes and 250 grams, or about 9 ounces, each of broad beans and cabbage.

2.Add foods that are high in calcium and protein to your diet. Avoid foods that are high in carbohydrates or fat, which can limit the HGH in the body.

3. Exercise regularly. Without regular exercise, your spinal column will compress, which can prevent you from growing as much as you can.

4. Stretch daily. While stretching won't make you taller overnight, over time you may see a difference of as much as 3 inches. You'll need to do three different types of stretches: toning and developing your back muscles; decompressing and straightening your spine; and regeneration and thickening of the spine.

Yoga stretches also tone and strengthen while developing muscles that will support your spine. Stretch for approximately 20 minutes, most days per week.

5. Get plenty of sleep. When we sleep, our body repairs and rejuvenates itself. Aim for 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night.
