You may know this as just a few days after the Apple Watch goes up for preorder, and more than a week before people can walk into an Apple store and buy one immediately. It certainly seems that Microsoft may be worried about what consumers are going to want to put on their arms, and are structuring the deal to tip the scales a little in favor of the Microsoft Band if people run any comparisons.
