How Effective Is Tea Tree Oil In Treating Keloids?

Tea tree essential oil is extremely good at getting rid of hypertrophic scars and keloids. What’s more, some people use it to inhibit the growth of keloids and also to get relief from the inflammation and itching that comes with them.

You can use it directly on the infected skin area or mix it with vitamin E oil and dab it with a sponge on the keloids. For those who have a tendency to suffer from rashes and allergies due to essential oils, add a few drops of the tea tree oil in a hot water solution.

Preparing The Solution:

1. To prepare the hot water solution, take a cup of warm distilled water.
2. Add half a teaspoon of sea salt and a few drops of tea tree essential oil to it.
3. Soak the area with keloids in the water for 15 minutes.
4. Repeat the treatment two times a day for at least 15 days.

You can also use the tea tree oil to treat the keloids caused due to ear piercing. Dab the tea tree oil using a cotton swab around the pierced hole 4 to 5 times a week. Let the oil stay for a while and then wash it off with warm water. At times, the tea tree oil can become too strong for the keloid, and the bump can return. Hence, try using it in a diluted form.

Avoid using tea tree oil on unhealed piercing or mucous membranes such as mouth, genitals, eyes and nostrils.

I was in denial when I had to have heart surgery... When I was waiting for my first heart surgery in my mind I was going to have a tooth pulled. I never faced up to the fact that it was major surgery because I did not want to deal with it.

I was still playing pool at midnight and thinking this was just a minor thing that had nothing to with my body. My grandmother and mother died from the same thing. I came home (from the operation) and started cycling. It was a stupid thing to do but I couldn't get my head around the fact that I'd need surgery. When I woke up from (the second operation) I told myself, 'This is a piece of cake. I will be out of here soon.' That is the way I think, that's the denial."

Beauty Tip: Must Try Now The Minion Nail Art

You can paint the minions on all your nails or just one nail, depending on how you like it. Also, if you are planning a birthday party for your li'l girl, you could keep a minion nail art station at the venue and see her grin from ear to ear.

STEP 1

• File your nails and apply a base coat to protect and create a smooth base.

STEP 2

• Paint electric blue (or any other inky blue colour) on your thumb, forefinger and little finger. Paint the middle finger and ring finger a bright yellow.

STEP 3

• Now, take a dotting tool and put tiny yellow polka dots on the fingers painted blue. In case you don't have a dotting tool, you can use the pointed part of a toothpick.

STEP 4

• On the two fingers painted yellow, make a thick black line, leaving a little space from the base of the nail.

STEP 5

• On the middle finger, take a bigger dotting tool (or the back side of a toothpick) and make two pale blue dots in the middle of the black line for eyes.

STEP 6

• Make another smaller white dot inside the pale blue ones. Follow the same process with only one dot for the ring finger to finish the one eyed minion. Let it dry.

STEP 7

• Now, take the same electric blue used to paint the three fingers and do a straight French tip on the yellow nails. The easiest way is to draw a straight line with the nail polish brush and fill in the gaps. Let it dry for two minutes.

STEP 8

• Finally, make a tiny black dot in the centre of the white dot to finish the eyes.

STEP 9

• Use a paint brush and make a curved smile to finish your cute minion nail art.

STEP 10

• Seal the nail art with a top coat and you are ready to flaunt your cool minion nail art.

'Cat Socks' Keep Your Home Looking

Japanese company Toyo Case has invented cat socks, which are pretty much the cutest way to protect your home flooring from scuffs and marks. Just tug the socks over the legs of a chair, and it'll slide around with ease on hardwood and other easy-to-scratch surfaces.

They're described as a "cute, delightful addition to your room," and we couldn't agree more: Cat socks certainly beat the other chair socks on the market in appearance and general adorableness.

The cat socks retail for $6.49 online. It appears that they're currently sold out, though we assume they'll return soon due to the current level of freakout over their cuteness.
