Introducing Apple TV on October 26























The new version of Apple TV will be available from October 26th. That made Apple CEO Tim Cook announced during an interview in the Wall Street Journal Digital Live conference. Apple announced the new Apple TV in September. It is the fourth generation of the television product. It is not clear whether the box is therefore from that date available in the Netherlands. Cook did not go further in the introduction.

The new Apple TV is in the Netherlands 179 euros for the 32 GB model and 239 euros for the 64 GB version. The update is based on a completely new operating system called tvOS was born. This OS is a derivative of iOS, the operating system for mobile devices from Apple. Users get access to Apple TV via Apple TV App Store, which focuses on TV content and games. Apart from a controller Apple TV can also be controlled via the digital voice assistant Siri.

Tim Cook also talked about the progression of Apple Music, the music streaming service of the company. Cook reported that there are nearly 15 million registered users, spread across more than 6.5 million paying subscribers and another 8.5 million people who signed up for the free version.
