Sonos has just announced a brand new partnership with online
audio distributors SoundCloud, bagging Sonos-ites a hefty chunk of
music via the Sonos controller app. The audio electronics
firm produces wireless multi-room speaker systems that pair to a
smartphone app, giving users access to a smorgasbord of sound.
The
new partnership means SoundCloud's huge music archive will be ported
over the Sonos' app, with the service joining fellow Sonos partners like
Spotify, Songza, and Amazon Music.
According to Sonos,
twelve hours of music and audio are uploaded so SoundCloud every single
minute.
With the new partnership, Sonos device owners will be able to
skip SoundCloud's website completely and beam the apparent shedload of
tracks direct to their home speaker systems, via the smartphone app.
While Sonos' app already gives access to a huge amount of music, some content is only available via SoundCloud.
"By
bringing SoundCloud’s ever-expanding library of new and established
publishers on to Sonos, you can easily discover music and audio that is
not available anywhere else," says the Californian audio gear
manufacturer.
"Nothing should stand between you and the
music you love and want to discover. And the closer we can connect you
to all the music on earth, the more we deliver on our mission to create
the best experience with music at home. Period."
A website has been set up for the partnership, and you can check out the Beta version of SoundCloud in Sonos' app from today.
