A source told the website that the rapper took issue with Strength and Conditioning Coach Sal Alosi, who was "screaming intensely" at his son on the field. Diddy allegedly swung at the coach with a kettlebell, but "narrowly" missed him.
UCLA later issued a statement confirming the incident that took place at the Acosta Athletic Training Complex led to the 45-year-old Bad Boy Records founder's arrest on the charge of assault with a deadly weapon. UCLA Police said no one was seriously injured during the altercation and they will continue with their investigation.
As of 6 p.m ET the rapper was still in custody at UCLA's campus jail, but is expected to be transported to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Inmate Reception Center later this evening, police said in a statement.
