Tom Holland Named New “Spider-Man” Lead

Following in the footsteps of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, Tom Holland has scored the role of Spider-Man in the forthcoming 2017 flick. On Tuesday morning (June 23) Marvel made the formal announcement, drawing attention to the 19-year-old British actor’s impressive resume which includes “The Impossible,” “Wolf Hall” and “Billy Elliot: The Musical.”

Per a press released from Marvel, “We saw many terrific young actors, but Tom’s screen tests were special. All in all, we are off to a roaring start.”
