As the inevitable Apple iWatch
draws closer, other tech firms are refining and releasing more and more
wrist-based devices. The latest is LG, which is rumoured to be showing
off the sequel to its LG G Watch at the IFA conference this year.
Like the original G Watch, we would expect this new device to run on Android Wear and feature a rectangular screen, rather than the traditional circular face sported by the Moto 360. The Korean Times identifies its source as an LF spokesperson, which gives it a sliver of authenticity. But seeing a new device so soon after the first still seems unlikely.
"LG Electronics was working on a September release for the new smartwatch alongside Google's wearable platform. The IFA fair may be the venue to see the upgraded smartwatch," quotes the report.
T3.com will be at IFA checking up on these kinds of claims, so we'll let you know as soon as we find anything.
