The Sync Smartband is aiming to become the smart watch choice for health-conscious families.
Like
other smart watches, it keeps tables on the number of steps taken,
calories burnt and sleep patterns. However, what sets it apart from
other devices available is that it can track their kids.
It follows hot on the heels of the LG Kizon – a smart watch designed to let parents monitor where their kids are.
Like
LG’s device, the Sync Smartband can be set up to alert a parent if
their child wanders too far away. Parents can set up a digital zone –
should their child leave that area, they can be notified and see where
their child has gone.
The wrist band also stores
emergency contact information – ideal for younger children who may not
know their address or be able to recall their parent’s names if they are
panicked. The team behind the Sync Smartband are
currently raising money on Indiegogo. People pledging ahead of time can
get a device for $69. According to the team behind the smart watch, the
final price per device is likely to be closer to $129.
