Sources have tipped Motorola's upcoming Moto X+1 smartphone for a September 25th release date, according to a report by DroidLife. The site didn't provide much info, or confirm the identity of the tipster, but said that the phone would be out be that date.
"Sources of ours have confirmed to us that Verizon is currently expecting the new Moto X by September 25," reads the article. DroidLife also pointed out that the handset come possibly come sooner on 'other carriers' before Verizon, although the date isn't expected to be wildly different in any case.
There's also a good chance Motorola's long-awaited Moto 360 could be launching alongside the Moto X sequel handset, especially considering the fact that it's been mostly complete for a while now. DroidLife didn't manage to confirm the smartwatch release however. "We have no news on a potential Moto 360 launch. If I were a betting man, I would put money on it arriving around that same time, though," says DroidLife.
Just last month we saw some leaked snaps of what was purported to be the Moto X+1, revealing a wood-panelled rear plate. We're expecting the Moto X2 to tout a 5.1-in 1080p display, a Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2Gb of RAM, 32Gb default storage, a 2900mAh li-ion battery, a 12MP rear-facing camera, and a 5MP front snapper to boot.
