The sexily-named Sony a5100 has just been revealed as the
company's newest interchangeable lens snapper. What's more, the Japanese
tech giant is saying that for it's lens size, this is the smallest
interchangeable lens camera in the world.
Inside is a 24.3-megapixel APS-C Exmor CMOS sensor and Sony's Bionz X processor conveniently nicked from the flagship A7 range. If
that's a little too much photography speak for you, then there's also a
touch-sensitive LCD screen which will tilt 180-degrees for checking
your selfie is correctly framed.
There's no small amount
of connectivity either. Sony has built in Wi-Fi and NFC so you can
quickly connect it to a smartphone or tablet for transferring images. The
a5100 will shoot Full HD (1080p) video and features Fast Hybrid AF
which, Sony says, will let you target a subject in 0.07 seconds.
It'll
arrive with a 16-50mm lens kit and will be available from mid-September
here in the UK for £550. Price for the body only will be £420.
