Snoop Dogg Partners With Director Allen Hughes for HBO

HBO and Snoop Dogg have teamed up to create a new family drama series, though specific details about the planned show haven't yet been provided. The information was announced in a statement today, and though we don't know the particulars, we do know the series will take place some time in the 1980s in Los Angeles, and will center around a family, some political issue, and their local community.

The Boondocks writer Rodney Barnes will be writing the new series. This also follows a notable time in HBO's existence -- the service's new HBO NOW is set to kick off next month, giving subscribers access to all the episodes of its various content.
