Xiaomi is to push out its own version of a dual edge curved display smartphone. The Mi edge as it is called, had appeared in earlier rumours but was then soon shot down after news about the Mi 5 began to surface.
According to chinese website called MobileDad, Xiaomi is hellbent on bringing the Mi edge to the market, and it will even push aside plans for its Mi 5 for it. It is pretty clear that Xiaomi has arrived late at the dual edge curved display party, but since BlackBerry has yet to launch its much-rumoured Venice, there is plenty of scope.
Details about this rumoured smartphone are sparse at best, but recent rumours point to a 5.2 inch Quad HD display with dual edges made by Sharp and a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset with 3/4 GB of RAM. Also expected is a 16 MP primary camera and a fingerprint scanner all packaged in a metal and glass build.
The Mi 5 flagship is expected to arrive by the end of year with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and a rumoured Sense ID (Qualcomm made) ultrasound-based fingerprint reader.
