Best Hand Exercises For Guitar Players

1. Squeeze The Soft Ball:

Squeezing a soft ball can actually be a good exercise for all beginners. It is very effective and doesn’t take much effort. It will strengthen your grip and prevent your fingers from slipping off while playing. All you have to do is simply squeeze it hard for a couple of seconds and then release your grip. Try 15 repetitions before calling it an end. Try this exercise around three times a week in order to maximize the results.

2. Claw Stretches:

Claw stretches are another interesting way to get your fingers moving! Bring both your hands out and place them in the front. This will help you visualize your palms. Next, you will have to gently bend those fingers so that they rest perfectly on the joints of your fingers. Your hands will look similar to the paws of a cat. Keep yourself in that position for about 20 seconds and repeat around 3 times. Try this three to four times a week for best results.

3. Use Rubber Bands:

Now rubber bands are quite a fun equipment to use if you’re trying to work those finger muscles. Just wrap a rubber band around the hand at the base of your fingers. Next, you have to extend the thumb and hold it before bringing it back. Try this exercise 10 to 15 times. Increase the sets. Three times a week should be enough.

4. Pinch Strengtheners:

For this exercise, you will have to place a ball between your thumb and finger. Now continue to hold on it for the next 30 seconds. You can repeat this exercise around 10 to 15 times. Try the exercise two to three times a day. Just make sure you are not trying this if you have an injury beforehand.

5. Finger Lifts:

Finger lifts are fun to do and easy for all guitar lovers. Place your hands on the table and make sure the palms are down. Lift the fingers one by one. Towards the end, you can lift all your four fingers along with the thumb and put them down again. Finish a total of 4 reps in order to complete. Try this exercise a few times per week.
