It is not enough if you get a good tattoo artist to do the art. You also need to take care of it afterwards. We suggest some tips to take care of your tattoo
- Once the dressing is removed from the tattoo, it is an open wound. So, wash it only with anti-bacterial soap and pat dry with - towel.
- Keep your tattoo moist; letting it dry out can result in a thick scab forming.
- Don't go overboard with applying moisturiser on the tattoo. It needs to breathe if it's to heal properly.
- Don't expose your tattoo to the sun for at least two weeks. UV radiations are not a good thing.
- After a few days, a thin layer will start to peel. Don't play with it. Even if it itches, don't scratch. Mildly apply cream to the tattoo.
- Don't soak your tattoo for two weeks after you get inked. Avoid swimming or sauna. Showering in warm water is fine and perhaps the safest.
